I think the Badder Meinhof Complex is a
long time movie with 150 minutes, but it is also a poignant movie. It portrayed
the activists of RAF as free-spirited and anarchism. All the activists are young
as individual to fight against the government. In addition, in the film, there
are many shots showing the full frontal nudity and naked in the public. I think
it represented the liberation of thinking for these people.
According to the synopsis of the film, the
children of the Nazi generation have grown up in the devastation their parents
created. They vowed fascism would never rule again. In their fight for freedom
they lost themselves in the cause and ignited a revolution around the world. It
can seem when the first generation of activists got
caught and had been imprisoned, I think the ideal they pursue initially have
already started to change. The next generation killed the innocent people and
made the public panic. In the end, they became the true terror.
In general, the movie stands on the neutral
point. It not only criticized the government, but also highlighted the
terrorist threat.
